【摘要】:ThevolumeofacomplexshapedPMpartcannotbemeasuredaccuratelyusingmicrometersorcalipers.Sincedensityismassperunitvolume,aprecisemethodformeasuringthevolumeisneeded.Archimedesx2019;principlemaybeusedtocalculatethevolumeofwaterdisplacedbyanimmersedobject.ForthistobeapplicabletoPMmaterialsthatcontainsurfaceconnectedporosity,thesurfaceporesaresealedbyoilimpregnationorsomeothermeans.Thegreendensityofcompactedpartsortestpiecesisnormallydeterminedtoassistduringpressset-up,orforqualitycontrolpurposes.Itisalsousedfordeterminingthecompressibilityofbasepowders,mixedpowders,andpremixes.ThesintereddensityofsinteredPMpartsandsinteredPMtestspecimensisusedasaqualitycontrolmeasure.Theimpregnateddensityofsinteredbearingsisnormallymeasuredforqualitycontrolpurposesasbearingsaregenerallysuppliedandusedoil-impregnated.1.1Thisstandarddescribesamethodformeasuringthedensityofpowdermetallurgyproductsthatusuallyhavesurface-connectedporosity.1.2ThedensityofimpermeablePMmaterials,thosematerialsthatdonotgainmasswhenimmersedinwater,maybedeterminedusingTestMethodB311.1.3Thecurrentmethodisapplicabletogreencompacts,sinteredparts,andgreenandsinteredtestspecimens.1.4Withtheexceptionofdensityvalues,forwhichtheg/cm3unitistheindustrystandard,thevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesareconvertedinaccordancewithIEEE/ASTMSI10andareforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
