【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandarddescribesamethodfortheevaluationoftheporesizedistributionandthespecificsurfaceinporesofsolidsbymercuryporosimetryaccordingtothemethodofRitterandDrake[1],[2].Itisacomparativetest,usuallydestructiveduetomercurycontamination,inwhichthevolumeofmercurypenetratingaporeorvoidisdeterminedasafunctionofanappliedhydrostaticpressure,whichcanberelatedtoaporediameter.Practicalconsiderationspresentlylimitthemaximumappliedabsolutepressuretoabout400MPa(60000psia)correspondingtoaminimumequivalentporediameterofapproximately0,003μm.Themaximumdiameterwillbelimitedforsampleshavingasignificantdepthduetothedifferenceinhydrostaticheadofmercuryfromthetoptothebottomofthesample.Forthemostpurposes,thislimitcanberegardedas400μm.Themeasurementscoverinterparticleandintraparticleporosity.Ingeneral,itcannotdistinguishbetweentheseporositieswheretheyco-exist.Themethodissuitableforthestudyofmostnon-wettable,bymercury,porousmaterials.Samplesthatamalgamatewithmercury,suchascertainmetals,e.g.gold,aluminium,reducedcopper,reducednickelandsilver,canbeunsuitableforthistechniqueorcanrequireapreliminarypassivation.Undertheappliedpressure,somematerialsaredeformed,compactedordestroyed,wherebyopenporescanbecollapsedandclosedporesopened.Insomecases,itispossibletoapplysamplecompressibilitycorrectionsandusefulcomparativedatacanstillbeobtained.Forthesereasons,themercuryporosimetrytechniqueisconsideredtobecomparative.
